Manages many AWS resources including EC2, S3, RDS etc.
AWS Systems Manager (Systems Manager) was formerly known as “Amazon Simple Systems Manager (SSM)” and “Amazon EC2 Systems Manager (SSM)”. The original abbreviated name of the service, “SSM”, is still reflected in various AWS resources, including a few other service consoles.
Components: • Automation (Uses documents to perform actions) • Run Command (Similar to Automation and includes command, automation and package which will be ran by Run Command) • Inventory (A dashboard with instance data visualized) • Patch Manager (updates and patches to instances) • Session Manager (Secure alternative to SSH and RDP) • Parameter Store (To store configuration variables and secrets)
